Hello all,

I wanted to pick up a new short barrel shotgun (14 inch) and was not sure if anyone has tried both pf these and could help me out.

I am looking for this shotgun to be a bush gun for deer hunting as well as for doing the tdsa shotgun course.

I have already had a grizzly and other 870s so not really wanting to go that route again.

I have a 14" 590A1 that I really like, and I just bought a Supernova Tactical, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Isn't the Blackwater edition a 20"er?

SuperNova Tactical. I have the 14"-er. Mossberg doesn't hold a candle to Benelli, as far as I'm concerned. Bonuses include an uncomfortable (but wayyy cool looking) collapsible buttstock, a chrome-lined barrel, and a shell elevator that holds itself open while you load shells into the tube. It also won't rust on you.

Very minimal experience with the benelli the m4 is a sweet thing, but my mossberg 590 mariner hasn't steered me wrong so I don't see the a1 being any worse if not a bit better. It seems to be the crown jewel of fighting pump shotguns.

If you ever want to reconfigure your shotgun, the Mossberg wins without any question.

Barrels, stocks, and whatever else you might want are in endless supply.

The Benelli has basically zero aftermarket support.

Owned both and like the mossberg better "only if your running a non-pistol grip"

I was not very happy how Benelli cut the muzzle on their 14" barrels, also little to no aftermarket options or light/sling mounts.
