Mossberg 590A1 Receiver Damage

Disassemble the gun and just use a rat tail file or dremel to clean up the rough edge, reassemble it and continue shooting away. That is an un-stressed part of the reciever and was probably poorly machined or there was an air bubble in the original casting or billet used to make your reciever, either way Mossberg should be doing something about it.

Well, I've waited a month now. No response from Mossberg, and very little communication from Grech Outdoors. I've got to say, I am very disappointed in the customer service Mossberg provides in Canada. It's almost as if they don't respect us as a legitimate market, which is unfortunate.

Looks like I'll be buying a Fabarm SDASS, and a folding stock for the 590A1. Time to retire it as a truck gun.

Have you actually made personal contact with Mossberg's customer service department? By phone and by email?

I can't believe that they wouldn't sort this out and quickly.

John Grech is great to deal with, he'll take care of it.
Well, that was certainly NOT my experience with John Grech.
Next time i'll take my chances with Wortner Gun Works, the OTHER warranty and service provider for Mossberg.
I sent a shotgun barrel to Grech for warranty replacement. Two months later I received a USED barrel for a different model of gun.
Phone John and he tells me my serial# is for a different model of gun. After FIVE more months of back and forth phone calls I finally got a hold of customer service manager myself, who tells me they have not received request for barrel from Grech. This was SEVEN months later.
Remember, I did not require any actual "repairs" just needed to replace one barrel for another one. NINE months.
Plain jane 590A1 factory ghostrings. There's nothing wrong with my serial#.

If he chose to accept the contract to provide warranty for Mossberg and Savage he should have weighed his ability to handle the extra volume of work. It's called, "being a professional".
I'm sure he values local customers for sales. I'm glad you've received good service.
My experience was not as successful.
