does anybody know who has these in stock right now?

im in the market for a shottie and im stuck between a
590a1 (if i can find one)
and a 870 tactical
so hard to decide which to get
any opinions?

I suggest you buy neither until after you've had an opportunity to handle both a 500/590 and an 870. There are marked differences - including operating controls and subjective feel - that will be obvious to you.

When you've handled them, it should be easy to tell which model you prefer.

I own a Remington 870 Marine Magnum and a Mossberg M590-A1 14" and they both KICK-ASS. I dont know what to tell you...try them both out if you can.

The Mossy 590 has a fatter grip on the stock and rifled sights (Ghost sights) which are very accurate and can be adjusted for windage/elevation with a black rear and a highly visible "red-ramp" (Orange) front sight blade.

The Remmy 870 generally has a front bead sight, action smooth as a babies bottom, easier to clean/fieldstrip

Mossberg 590A1 20" ...........9-SHOT capacity
Remington 870 18"..............6-7 SHOT capacity

Both KICK-ASS!

i have only handled the 870 as thats the only one i can find in stores
the 590a1 is no where to be seen in town
i can fondle 500persuder all day as their dime a dozen
but it still aint no 590

Each of the shotguns have their own special features. I like the 870 and the mossberg. I have a 500 and prefer the release on the mossberg better but the 870 isnt bad. I like both and would buy either one. You will be happy with either one you chose.

i have a mossberg 590 20" with ghost ring sights. i like it better then the 500.( my old man has one)
also never had a misfeed in my 590. i even tested it to see how i can depend on it with a stepped on, once firedshell and took scissors and cut up the hull real bad. it still fed and ejected it multiple times just to be sure. as for the remington, i almost bought one. i really liked the tactical one with the folding stock. i had my heart set on remington and went with cash in hand until i saw the 590. either way i think you will be happy

I have a 20 inch 590 special purpose (plastic trigger guard, safty swictch and SLIGHTLY thinner barrel) and I love it to bits. Stone reliable and very nice to use. Slick as pig shat after some use. I have an 870P on the way so ill give a comparo, and who knows either or might come up for sale.

I prefer the mossy 590, I've owned a '870 but sold it and kept my 590. Two main reasons, the location of the pump lock release is more favorable in the mossy and the cycling seemed (at least compared to my 870) to be tighter. Fit and finish are similiar in both. At the end it's a matter of preference.

Get a Benelli. I have a Nova Tactical and it is awesome. Super accurate with the ghost ring sights. Its very well built.
Had a 870, it was nice but it didnt fit me to well.

I have the 590A1 and agree with what the others have to say, the extra weight from the heavy barrel help soak up recoil. It also has a bayo lug if that turnsyour crank.

Is it even possible to find a 14" 590 A1 with ghost rings? Would it be a waste of my time posting an EE ad? Did many make it into Canada?

thanks all
i went to the store to take a look at the 870 tactical again
but instead it followed me home.
took it up to the range this afternoon and i love it!
great gun to just blow stuff up with.
damn target stands would'nt stay standing long enough for me to empty out the mag tube.
