Mossberg 590A1

I have the 18.5" with 3 dot rifle sights. It's easy to carry, and handle. The safety is in plain view, and the trigger is amazingly good. Best knock-around bear gun I've ever owned.

The LOP is a bit of an issue, especially when wearing armour.

Easy to fix though....

1. Take off recoil pad.

2. Place shotgun on chop saw.

3. Remove 1.5" of butt.

4. Screw recoil pad back on.

5. Shoulder and enjoy.

One better, install a Hogue 12" {or 13", available from Aimpro} stock, which gives you a better recoil pad, better shape and much better grip texture than the factory stock.

Here's a question - at the gun counter at work, they just received a couple of 590A1's. They have the heavy barrel, and 590A1 is stamped on the receiver. They have ghost ring sights, and the bayo lug, and come with 20" barrels. However, they have a regular stock, not a speedfeed version. The box says "590A1 Persuader", but I can't seem to find this one on the Mossberg website...the barrel is parked, but the receiver appears to be finished differently...any thoughts on this? The price is $549.99, which I thought was really cheap for a 590A1...

They sell them with different stock and sight options.

The price is about right too.
