You are completely correct. If running a “raptor grip” on either the 870, or the 500, you need at least a 14” barrel to stay above the minimum length requirement. I was only pointing out a possible source for a short shotgun that no one had touched on. Short barrel AND mag fed to me says Grizzly, but the ones I’ve owned over the years always had a full stock, or the S&J 870 kit/rail system which kept them over required length.

It’s a shame you can’t run a 12.5” or shorter 8.5” Grizzly with a raptor grip, it just looks and feels proper.
Personally I’m not a huge fan of the raptor grips, but I do know what you mean. Something like the Dlask Serbu’s, or the Remington MCS with the 10” barrel and the Pachmyr grip - now those speak to me. But, I’ve never seen the use in a restricted short barreled shotgun.

Agreed, I personally have no use for a restricted shotgun either but that’s me. I also can’t legally hunt in BC with a shotgun barrel shorter than 12” I like the ergos of the raptor grip as the angle of it is the same as the grip on a full length buttstock, I used one the other year for swatting grouse on the road in the fall and it worked surprisingly well.
