Double stack single feed magazine is a nice touch, cuts down on the giant dongle issue with normal 10 round magazines.

Be interesting to see if these hold up. I like the design of the magazines here better than with the 870M magazine design. This looks to be a more thoroughly thought out solution.

Will buy one of these when the do come to Canada.......20 round mag is 140$ USD......the most expensive magazine i will ever buy lol

Want a Remington DM too

detachable magazine fed shotguns are hardly something new as mossberg had them years ago. my experience with the older guns was that they did not feed all that well. hopefully they have that problem sorted out .

I guess Maglula will be coming out with a new 12G loader..... :)
I can see the advantage of a good reliable mag fed option in certain scenarios. The past units were aftermarket add ons, this shotgun is purpose built for magazines so I doubt reliability will be an issue.

I really dislike corporate videos... blantent knocking of the competition "American mag release for 'Merican's"

You underestimate corporate R&D time... Most likely, both the 870M and 590M have been in development for years, and probably started development at roughly the same time, for the same reasons. Not really surprising that both manufacturers released their solution with a few months of each other.

The explosion of 3-gun has really driven the market for a reliable, detachable mag shotgun. The Turk guns (yes, they're available in the US), and the AK pattern shotguns have both been available for a while now, and just aren't gaining traction on the competition circuit - because they just don't meet the reliability requirement of the higher end shooters. Miculek uses an AK pattern shotgun, sometimes, but not often - it's failed pretty badly on him in matches.

The tactical crowd will buy them, sure, but I'm waiting to see what starts dominating the 3-gun circuit. Sponsorship or not, the top level competitors won't use it unless they KNOW it's 100% reliable.

That makes sense, and we can benefit from their massaging the shotty to get the most out of it! I plan on waiting at least a year to let the price settle down a bit anyway!

Seems like a lot of engineering with the benefit if a short barrel and high capacity..... but no short barre

Shotguns in USA need to be that long.
Otherwise you need a special license and registration for it from the ATF.

Also; If you're using it for 3-gun.
You'll want the barrel that long, so you can knock over heavy steel targets.

The Remington design looks "slapped together" in comparison to the Mossberg offering. Although, I do find Remington's mag system to look more ridged and quicker to use.

The rock-to-lock with a plastic mag looks weaker in comparison to a magwell. Especially with a bulky plastic mag that will leverage itself out of lock with enough force. The 'merican mag release is good... with a magwell it would have been better.

Just my two cents. I think the Remington's magwell system will hold up better to abuse.

Edit: for those who may think of a magfed shotgun being good for **** *******, the vertical stacking of the shells will deform the plastic over time causing FTF. Just food for thought.
