Mossberg 590S barrel attachment question

I have a 20" Mossberg 590S.

When I attach my OKC M7 bayonet the bayonet ring does not sit on the magazine tube cap but is about an eighth of an inch away from it.

One internet solution is to put an O ring under the cap to move it forward and make contact with the bayonet ring.

Question: Would doing this cause issues like the mag tube cap unscrewing itself under firing?

Apparently the OKC bayonets are not correct length wise. They are otherwise nice kit.

If I need to I can try to find a surplus M7.

With the o-ring and bayonet installed I don't think the cap will go anywhere (The bayonet handle lock will prevent the cap from unscrewing much). Having said that, I think you found the correction to the problem with your last statement geo...just get a properly dimensioned bayonet.
