Mossberg 715T fireing pin hangs low ....FIX

For a while now i figured we caused the problem

So.....

Cause is ...Pulling the Mag out of the rifle with the bolt closed
This causes the fireing pin to be pulled down .
Results in Fail to fire , Kinda random times also fail to eject upon opening bolt a lot of times ..
Field cure was ..Hold rifle upside down and recock and shoot rifle while still upside down ....PITA

Tonight i took this thing apart , actualy pretty easy job
Screwdriver and 2 diffrent size pin punches

Removed Fire pin from bolt and gave ever slight bend in the upward direction.
Checking to be sure the pin was not binding and was able to function as it should when reinstalled
Actualy had to unbend slightly as i had overdone it

Now the pin is not hanging low where it will sometimes barely hit the rim
It is in the place it was intended to be when it was manufactured

Sorry i did not take any pics of this , but if you are having this issue

Tomorow its gonna get tested and i am quite sure it will work properly again

Good tip, but why not just release the mags with the bolt open and locked back like the manual instructs? I've never had any FTF/FTE issues with mine.

May be a silly question, but how do you lock the bolt back? I could not figure it out for the life of me lol

Pull the bolt all the way rearward then push it inward toward the receiver and release slowly. It should lock open allowing the mags to drop freely

As far as i can figure out there is no way to lock my bolt back.....Ok so it locks open after all...
This is not the newer design "flat top" , not sure if they changed them or not

But holding the bolt open while holding the rifle while trying to manipulate the Tiny latch for the mag while pulling out the mag....you get the picture ?

Anyhow it was damaged before i figured out we were hurting it

I still dont like this rifle, but at least it should function properly now and i may have helped someone.

Or at least prevent someone from having this problem

It's odd that one model would have a bolt lock feature and one would not. It's still the same 702 plinkster inside the polymer shell.

Very odd if the carry handle model doesn't..

Yea it locks , I dident read the book when i first got it , we ran couple thousand rounds thru it ...It started acting up.....I got mad and went and bought a 10/22
After sitting in my safe for near a year now i decided to fix it if i could
I had thought about selling it , but with the way it was funtioning ..It would not have been right(even with telling of the malfuntion)
It simply was no fun to shoot

What do you read on the can then?? That's what instructions are for!
