Just checked out my local ctire proshop and saw one of these behind the glass. Anyone know anything about them or has one? I've read mixed reviews online thought I would reach out here. I like the AR look with the rim fire price $325. And I believe it's non restricted any info is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Many don't like this firearm, saying it's a cheap plastic POS. Mine works just fine, and it's loads of fun.
Only problem is, I think the jury's still out, whether or not the 25 shot clip is a prohibitted device.

Yes, it's non restricted. It's 702 Plinkster with AR skin platform. 25rd AR style mag no longer available for this gun, it's prohibited in Canada.

Non-restricted.

Some are finicky about ammunition.

Accuracy is actually pretty awesome out of the box out to 100 yards, takes some practice past that.

Magazine capacity for them is a big who knows grey zone gong show right now.

A lot of them are being only sold with 10 round stick mags that are retarded, barely able to pull them out of the mag fell and fit no magazine pouches of any sort properly.

For a right handed shooter manipulation can feel ass backwards compared to a real AR, I'm a lefty so its just gravy for me.

Carry handle models quite often the optic mounting rail that is included is off center and will NOT line up with the bore no matter how much you try.

If you do get one, may sure it is the flat top version to avoid those headaches.

Don't over tighten the screws taking it apart to clean it, they will strip in the plastic shell "M4" wannabe body.

Do not bend the recoil spring taking the action apart, getting parts through Mossberg warranty center in Canada is a nightmare.

Mags will fit a standard AR pouch but are just a little tight on some, I use a tactical tailor vest but I like how they hold snug and my vest has its own dump pouch for shotgun shells so no problem for me.

The 25 round magazines can be found but you have to search high and low for them and most people who have several do not want to part with them.

The rifles prefer round nosed ammunition, cheap stuff like Winchester 333 hollowpoints which have a flat nose jam all the time in mine, I stick to CCI Minimags, Blazer 40gr lead round nose, Federal Champion Bulk 525 packs 36 grain round nose hollow points and CCi Stingers when options are limited.

Here is mine after I chopped the useless carry handle off it and clamped on a NcStar AR15 scope riser in its place, scope lines up perfectly for me now and the perm indents in the plastic body from tightening the screws hard make sure it returns to zero every time I take it apart.

Painted it with olive drab krylon spray paint and its got a "battle worn" finish to it now, mine has far too many rounds through it to even bother keeping track of but it doesn't act up often for me, when other shoot it they manage to make it jam but it wont for me anymore.

Any other questions? Ask away.

Downside is mossberg now sells a pistol that uses the 25 round magazine so now the 715 rifle is only able to use 10 round magazines in canada not the 25 round ones. For me I got a ruger 10/22 and bought an ATI AR-22 stock for it which is much better quality

Like many have said. Great shooter, beats a stock 10/22 any day of the week. However takedown and cleaning is a pain!!!!!
For this reason I sold both versions.

I currently own one. It has been great fun but since I stepped up tp the AR game it doesnt come out anymore.
Should be Hitting the EE shortly.

1 issue is that I've never been able to fit 25rds into the mag, it just doesnt function well with more than 16-17

If you don't care about tacticool, you can get a 10/22 for about the same price. If you want tacticool, a SR-22 (10/22 in tacticool stock) is double the price.

Get a 715T. Like it and want to invest more? Get an SR22. Done like it? Trade it in on something else (they don't drop much in value).

I had one earlier this yr and it shot any ammo flawlessly. I sold it because of the 25 rnd mag Bullsh-t, even though I think they're still legal, I just didn't want the hassle. I've since got a 1022 , done it up with a Nordic chassis, CTR stock,Tacsol aluminum barrel, S&J comp, Kidd extracter, Kidd buffer. It was a jam fest at first , but I think it's coming around now....if not for the 25 rnd mag Bullsh-t I woulda kept the mossberg. I like what I have now though.image.jpgimage.jpg

Out of the box, mine was complete garbage; I couldn't hit anything with it and only bought it to keep my AR desires at bay for a little while longer. Ended up damaging the barrel when my cleaning rod broke and had the barrel fixed by a friend who was a precision shooter...wow, talk about night and day!

The 25 round magazine BS is a bit of a headache and you'll most likely never find them for sale in a store (private sale only, if that even happens), but I still use mine and will continue to do so until something concrete and in writing appears (a la Butler Creek BX25).

Would I buy another one? No. I would go with the RIA 10/22 clone and the JW-25A and may well go that route in the future once the funds arrive.

Nothing wrong with the price. A comparable rifle with a metal body would be the Ruger SR22 and it costs double if you are lucky enough to find someone with stock.

Picked one up and gave it a once over and just felt like a toy to me my nephews have better built toy guns. Also a fella at the range had one and it seemed every fifth or sixth round he was clearing a FTf or a fte. That right there made up my mind for me.
