Onagoth,

Great question, we hope to have a Canadian version of the SPX next year.

Hi Peter,

I believe the restriction is the result of the mag tube being able to hold more than 5 rounds...I wonder if there was enough interest from Canadian buyers, if Mossberg would consider exporting some units without the mag extension?

Thanks,

Onagoth

Onagoth,

The 930 SPX is restricted in Canada and we do not ship this gun in. Hopefully this will change some day.

Thank you for your interest in Mossberg.

Subject: Canada Export Question

Hi,

Does Mossberg have any interest in exporting the 930 SPX to Canada? I love my 590 and have been waiting for a couple years for this gun to come to Canada.

I know the shooting community here would adopt this shotgun quickly, just as they have the 590.

Thanks,

Onagoth

Im thinking of this one

Ah...

Can't they just pull off the mag extension and put on a cap?

Seems to be too difficult for them to figure out...Really, this gun has been around for a few years now.

I thought about importing one through Buffalo Gun Center...but they didn't want to 'hold' onto the extension tube for me, said it had to be exported in the same fashion as what they got it in.

Coincidentally enough, on another occasion, they said they would export a G26 with a lonewolf barrel for me.

.

Restricted!?.. I see the 930 Tactical for sale at Frontier Firearms still has 5 + 1 mag capacity like most other S/A shotguns sold everywhere.... So the extra 2 round capacity of the 930 SPX makes illegal to sell? This is nuts!

Yes. It's a semi-auto centerfire shotgun, so it's limited to a 5 round capacity by law. The extension makes it prohibited due to magazine capacity.

This has been tried with Mossberg in the past, but they wouldn't change the configuration to make a Canada-compliant model. It would be great if they would in the future, though.

7 +1 , 5 + 1 , 4 + 1 - Yikes!

Okay , thanks for the info...I should have known that

Also , as I was reading up on these Mossberg's , the stock info stated from various retailer's websites on the guns is a little misleading , some quote 5 + 1 or even 7 + 1 on models with no mag extension...All non-extended mag models are in fact 4 + 1 , just like you stated , that's why the 930 Home Security can be sold in Canada , while the 930 SPX cannot...Too bad....
