Mossberg 930 SPX

You can make the equivalent of a 930SPX using the Home Security model of the 930. Couple it with a +2 mag. extension (with a permanent plug to stay legal) and UTG Mossberg 930 scope mount and a set of iron sights (LPA are available, but expensive), the front of which you would have to have welded on and re-blued. This photo I found online has an extended charging handle, metal safety and a Turner AWS sling. Looks like someone built a nice rig so yes, you can get there, but it will cost you a lot more.

There are VERY few that made it into Canada. Milarm had a small number and they had to remove the +2 mag extensions, but other than that, they can be found.

Here is my personal 930 SPX prettied up thanks to Ryan at SFRC and Sean's hard work.

I can honestly say, that the jumbo safety is leagues ahead of the flimsy plastic stocker. The only problem was the entire rifle had to be disassembled to install it!.

I added the +2 mag extension just because I like the look of it better (hindsight says, I should have bought the bayonet clamp instead of the light clamp, ah well)

Before everyone goes jumping all over me, it's internally pinned to 5 rounds with a grade three bolt and a 1 inch nut locktited into place. It isn't going to come off anytime soon and makes a nice ramp for mounting of the bayonet. I am glad that I did this upgrade however. The spring Sean includes in his kits are much stronger than the wimpy stock piece. A nice touch in the reliability department as the last few rounds come out with authority.

Oddley enough, a call to the CFO and they have the 930 SPX listed as "7 round semi auto" weird.

its a 7+1 so i guess thats why they list it as such, they are legal ( with full capacity mag tube ) here in NZ and our laws only allow 7 round in a semi auto mag

I think this was a mistake in terms of the CFO, the 930 is listed at a 7 shot mag, but in canadian firearms law, a semi auto cannot have greater than 5 shot capacity.

I am sure they are working to resolve this.

It does actually fit 7 rounds in Canadian legal configuration. It is capable of ghost loading like my Benelli m4 to get 5+1+1 in the shotgun at any one time.

Yes, thank goodness for ghost loading.

Could you please give more details on the sling (manf/where to buy)? Thanks.

You can find these slings almost anywhere, I believe they are a "US Military Style Model 1907 Reproduction Leather Rifle Sling" I like them in black personally :)

Looks like a standard M1907 sling to me, too. Pacific Canvas and Leather has a nice repro one for a great price and they ship north:

I've got one on my Garand and it is a great value at the price. Black would go with the tacticool shotgun look better than natural leather.

After hearing a girl squeal "Leather? I love leather!" the choice is fairly obvious for me...

Granted, it was an entirely different context altogether, but each time the decision includes leather as an option, the squeal of delight echo's in my head. :)

Leseee, last I time I was in at P&D they had them on the rack, I haven't checked MIlarm.

I know Wholesale has something similar but in nylon.

I did say "almost anywhere" didn't I? :)
