Hi fellow 935 owners.
Having a little issue with my shotgun shooting to the left. I patterned it at a range and found that at 25yards using Black Cloud 3.5" BBB the edge of the pattern is about 5 " from the point I aimed at.
This makes hunting quite difficult for me. I had someone else at the range try it too and he hit exactly where I did, so i think it's the gun. It has no rear sight and is practically brand new so this is strange.

Anyone else come across this?

I would try a straight edge on the barrel,it may be bent or change your screw in choke and see how they pattern. You may have a bad choke tube. Without a rear sight it is hard to aim any shot gun. Shooting from a rest may help and don't jerk the trigger.Try a few clay birds. If you are missing badly you may have a bad barrel or choke tube. If you aren't a good clay buster get someone to try it that is. A different load might also do the trick...ST...

Your gun gave you a built-in lead on that bird, and almost guaranteed a miss on the left-to-right birds.

Myself, I would question if the choke were machined in true.

My pal had a 835 that shot to the left. Brand new from the box. No help from the dealer. Shot left with both choke tubes we tried. After getting the runaroundfor a mounth he bought a super nova. Not the way to do busness in my opinion. Mossberg may have helped more but it was taking to long.

Figured it out today with a gunsmith at TSE. It's actually the buttstock if you can believe it! When I make my usual cheek weld I found that the plugs in the threaded holes to mount a scope in are definitely further right than the front sight is. Unless I press the buttstock into my cheek really hard instead of just resting it there I or anyone else with a normal skull will shoot this rifle slightly left.
Looking for a good rear sight to install on the receiver now, or I may just put a dab of red paint on the plug in one of the holes so I have something to line up quickly with the front sight, instead of carving a chunk out of the buttstock.
Honestly can't believe it was something so simple, but I'm glad it's not my barrel!

No shims in the box... Guess I'll have to find some. Someone else mentioned doing this to me today too so yeah I'll go that route, thx!

Your eye acts as the rear sight. The stock dimensions and angle control the placement of your eye.
Adjust the stock as necessary. Just as moving your eye up will throw the shot high, similar to raising a rear sightFor a right handed shooter moving it left will direct the shot left.
Sometimes the stock can be shimmed other times it can be thinned down by grinding away wood. This will move your cheek, therefore eye and therefore the shot to the right. Just be carefull and do it in very small degrees and gradually.
Others may find the gun shooting right so use thin pads to build up the thickness, in effect moving your cheek and eye to the left.

Shims if provided or available have the benefit of leaving the stock "stock" .
