Hey,

I have a friend wanting to trade his 935 for my sxp. Both are basically new and are camo with 3 1/2 chambers and 28 inch barrels. Ive been reading that they don't cycle the cheap shells very good..but from my point of view..a 500 dollar shot gun for a 800 dollar shot gun. It sorta seems like a good deal. Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah Ive been reading that..I really wanted to get rid of my pump and got this offer. I said sure I could use another semi auto..haha. Im also a member of shot gun world..its a good forum as well. Thanks guys

My guess the semi jamms like crazy. At least my 930 does. Your sxp can be found for 400 taxes in. The 935 will not cycle 2 and 3/4 quarter. It is a waterfolw gun period and may turkey gun.

Well, funny you should bring this up. I recently picked up a Turkey model 935. It has not jammed at all, so far. You need to keep it clean and oiled where the gas rings ride on the mag tube. Sounds simple and it is. It WILL fire and function just fine with 2 3/4 " shells if they are 1250 fps field loads. So, good to go if you are upland hunting as well. If you want to shoot light target loads, you simply add a 1" fine O ring between the large gas cylinder and the small gas ring. I can look up the part numbers if you need a better explanation. The O rings are at the auto parts store or Remington 1100/1187 O rings will work. This will let it work with light loads. Just remember to remove the O ring when shooting regular loads. Also keep the two gas ports in the barrel very clean. Cheap ammo cruds it up fast. Now, NEVER, never use the cheap silver base shells. They will stick in the chamber. Use the brass base shells. There you have it. All the internet B.S. put to rest.

same here bought my fist Mossberg semi a week or two ago a 935 turkey with pistol grip stock, bought it used from frontier firearms(thanks frontier). I wanted a dedicated turkey gun. I own a few semi's at the moment and the 935 works just fine, cleaned it and oiled it when it arrived and put 100 shells through it over the weekend to try it out, all 3" and 3 1/2" shells. not one problem. through a bushnell trs-25 on it and going to pattern it in the next few weeks. as I said I wanted a dedicated turkey gun so it will probably never see anything smaller than a 3 1/2" shell again and I put a primos jellyhead .690" choke on it for the time beeing. i'll see if I can post a pic with the bushnell on it tonight. just remember if someone buys a 935 and wants a rail on it the 500 rails work but the two front screw for the 935 are shorter so you have to file them down so they don't srew in to far into the receiver and push down on the part of the barrel that slides into the receiver and bind the bolt......... ask me how I know, thought I bought a lemon until I figured it out. LOL

I've only used my 935 for waterfowl and slug hunting (picked up a rifled barrel on the EE for a reasonable price) as I think it is a bit heavy for an all round gun. It does shoot heavier 23/4" shells but I'll have to try that O ring trick next time I'm out.
