Mossberg and magpul issues

I just picked up a magpul MOE forend for a mossberg 590/500 this weekend and just tried to install it with no luck, so my question is: is a mossberg 500A that much different than a standard 500? While the forend is installed theres no way to get the castle nut far enough down to tighten it on, the forend tube looks about an 1" too short, so is it because this is the 500A model? I can do much research as my computer crapped the bed on me

There are 2 different action bar lengths (forend) for Mossberg 500/590 shotguns.

Thanks for the info, I definetely have the shorter one, I'll have to look for an adapter or a new action bar i suppose
