Mossberg AR 22Cal

Mine has shot just about all the types of ammo I could find locally...even Remington Thunderbolts , all with very few FTF's.

Winchester Dynapoints or Win, Dyna. Target is what I use mostly.
Fed. Champions work just as well and I try to stay with 40gr pills.
Mine is one of the earlier ones that came with the 10rd mag . I've picked up two 25rd mags and they have given me no probs at all.
Shoots better dirty , like 500rd+ dirty .
Sure , I get a few FTF's but I expect that with bulk ammo , but that might only be 2 or 3 out of 500 . I'm just about reaching the 6000rd mark.
Some are turned off by the "feel" of the Mossy tact , some are looking for performance . I'm turned on by it's proven preformance and looks.

I like my Mossy Tact so much , I've got the flat-top on order " for the wife "

I bought one for my wife and she loves it. I put a red dot scope on it for her. My biggest complaint is the mag release is a POS as you have to press down on both sides then hold one and remove mag with other hand. Not very good.

I found if you pull back on the bolt and then use the mag release, it works alot better.
I too dislike the mag release. Wish it was a button. Also wish it had a functioning chargeing handle like the m&p.
However if it had these, I bet they would make it restricted.

Pull the bolt back and lock it by pushing it in. Mags will come out properly
I'd like to see the bolt close after last shot.

Just got a UTG M4 buttpad for mine.

I'd say yes since I have 7 mags and they all work well. However, if I know one thing, many will chim in and say that our guns are rubbish from the start.

ok so i have heard good and bad comments about this rifle. I personally like the look of the flat top. But does anyone actually know if the flat top is an "improved" version? curious to know if the inner workings are any different.

My guess is it will be the same guts as the 702 plinkster and the carry handle version. From a mass production view, I just can't see mossberg upgrading one gun and not the others.
I wish they would change the mag release!!!

AR's and AR look-a-likes don't seem to look right to me without a flash hider. If I get one, I'd definitely have one installed.

Does anyone know of any supplier that has the mossberg tactical flat top models in stock? I cant find them anywhere.

They actually don't appear to exist yet. They are not on Mossberg's site.

I was told by a dealer in TO that they expect them in mid Feb. Who knows?

At any rate, there is just too much plastic on them to please me...fake safety, fake mag button, fake cocking handle...humbug...

I decided to stick with what works for me so bought a new Armscorp M1600. Took it to the range today and burned up a bunch of .22. :)

ps Hmmm...seems this US outfit has a listing for them but none in stock.

Cabelas Canada has them listed.

you can select flat top from the model drop box. But it says they are on backorder.

I had one. It was accurate, looked good, and I had no reliability issues. Then after a couple outings I decide to do a detailed cleaning. Many hours later after the worse experience of disassembly and reassembly ever of a firearm it was done. Traded it that week. All the screws to take it apart, losing sight zero (sights have to come off), the cheaper adaptation of the marlin action by mossberg which was a challenge in it's self, my best friend drinking beer laughing at me, was enough.

After telling a guy at the counter this at P&D he laughed and said that is why they tell their customers not to disassemble them but hose them out, and relube.
