Hey guys,

My wife just bought a Mossberg ATR 100 in .308 and her first shot gave her a good ol scope bite. We are looking into getting her a bipod and clamp on muzzle brake if possible to help her customize her rifle a bit more for her. Any suggestions on this forum on products we can look into. Replacing the scope with a red dot sight is also a possibility. We are not (if possible) looking into permanently modifying her rifle by adding iron sights or anything. We have been working on her positioning and stance while shooting as well. Thanks!

It’s nearly impossible to get “scope bite” if the scope is setup properly and the user knows how to hold a rifle. Maybe make sure that she has it properly shouldered before firing and that proper eye relief is established. If the eye relief is too short (anything less than about 3”), ditch the scope and buy a one that doesn’t suck.

Hey all!

Her positioning and scope set up is something we are working on. I believe this is the scope it came with https://www.vortexcanada.net/en/hun...tex-crossfire-ii-3-9x40-riflescope-1-inch-bdc so looks like eye relief should be a non-issue. To be honest its a bit more of a peace of mind thing for her than anything. Any other suggestions on how to help with the scope as her eyes are not 20/20 and she has astigmatism?

3.8" on that scope is probably at 3x... it's probably close to 3" at 9x.
Mount it forward more and set it at 5x and see how she does.
Or buy a scope with 4.5"-5" eye relief.
