MOssberg Barrel help

Greetings

Need some help
I have a Mav 88
now i have a 18.5 an a 28 barrel mossberg both fit no problem
they include an incorporated bolt on them that screws into magazine tube securing them

I just purchased a breacher barrel which has no bolt incorporated just a hole which slides over the magazine tube
a standard mossberg bolt will leave a space and i have seen caps but they are threaded to install on a different type of tube i would imagine that is threaded
see picture for the issue

is there a kit that includes a spacer of some kind to properly lock down the barrel to the existing tube
sources would be helpful as well

The 500 and the 590 use different barrels and different magazines. It's possible that someone might be able to accomplish what you're hoping to do but, as far as I know, there is no such 'adapter kit' commercially available.

Looks like you've got a 590 barrel there, which is not quite the same as a 500 barrel.

I would try to trade the 590 barrel for a 500 barrel, that would be the easiest way to fix your issue.

As far as fitting with the receiver, both barrels are identical. No problems there.
But obviously the 500 and 590 use a different style of magazine tube.

The magazine tubes can be swapped out pretty easily. They unscrew from the receiver.
You can buy the other style of magazine tube from Brownells.

The other fix is quite simple and cheap.
Get a bolt from the hardware store (thread size is 7/16"-20)

Then make up your own endcap and spacer. (Or find a machinist friend to help you.)

Mag tube for a mossberg 835 should work as the tube is 14 3/4" long and threaded the same on both ends same as a 5 round mag tube for a 18.5" barreled 590 , which is what you have there , it will fit a maverick receiver.
You'll also need a end cap for a 590 and you're good to go .


Brownells will be your best bet for parts , go to their website, click on schematics , then mossberg, then 835 , then the red part number .
