Hi, i have a friend who has a Mossberg Bullpup and SPAS-12 for sale, both are deactivated or movie guns as he got them from. I can acquire them and just wanted to know if they'd be worth over $500 each if i sold them and which of the two was more in demand? I havn't seen these pop up too much on Gunnutz.
Thanks, Cedric

They are both great shotguns, but they're just paperweights now. I'd be surprised if you could sell them for that much. Especially knowing that if they were re-activated, they would be prohibs.

Dewat machineguns seem to have established price ranges. I have never heard of either of these selling as dewats; no price guidelines. Here is another thought - detached from the dewat Mossberg, the stock assembly is a prohibited device.

Sale wise there are GunNutters out there that will easily pay $500 for trophies and conversation pieces (look at dewat AK's). I didn't know that aspects of the guns might be prohibited? a friend has them and wants to sell them but if there's a legal issue that wouldn't be good....any more information on this?

It might boil down to how they were dewatted.

I really have no clue though.

I have read that they have to be welded up in such a fashion that no machining can be done to them to get then in working order again. Barrel welded closed and the slide/action welded with generous amounts of weld. Not tack welded type of thing..............
