what concerns me isnt that mossberg makes these travesties... its that sales are high enough on them to warrant newer gun abortions. they make them because they are what people want to buy.

Wow it has a chainsaw handle! Like, I've already got a perfectly fine shotgun but man this one has a chainsaw handle. Imagine all the corts of wood I can't cut up with that. The possiblities are endless.

And for what you get (a 500 with a railed foregrip & an 18" breaching barrel), < $400 isn't a bad price.

Meh. Considering I just paid 240$ for a 20" 590 (that can be a better tacticool AND useful shotgun), i'm not sure I agree. For the extra 160$, you can keep both the breaching barrel and the handle.

I agree here. With the handle off this is a pretty good deal considering the barrel and rail. And I bet if you bought one and then put the handle in the EE for $40 or so it would be sold in less than 3mins, no matter how ugly we all think it is.

It's like the Mossberg 535 deer combo with a 28" accu-choke barrel w/chokes that takes 3 1/2" shells and a rifled sabot slug barrel. I payed a total of $401 shipped from SIR (when it was SIR) and sold the slug barrel for $100. So I get a brand new duck gun with 3 1/2" capabilities with 3 chokes for $300.

Gotta look at the big picture
