Hi Folks

I am just wondering if anyone else on this board collects Mossberg .22's?

I have a 146B, a minty 152 that I bought off of a fellow member, and a 44US that is on the way from another member. I also have a couple of Mossberg shotguns (195 and a SA20).

I am a member of the Mossberg Collectors Association.

I have a complete bolt for a Mossberg 12 gauge, not sure which one. But if anyone needs bolt parts or a complete bolt send me a PM. Would be a shame to throw it out.

I have a 146b with all the original sights including the peep. It is the earlier model with the 'barrel' shaped bolt knob. Out of all the fireaems I have it is by far my favorite, deadly accurate and reliable. One of these days, when I have abit of money to spend, I would like to add a few more of these old gems to my collection.

I had the pleasure of shooting an old US44 with peep sights this weekend. I enjoyed it so much, I'm wondering were I could buy one. As well, if I did find one, what do you guys think I should pay for it?

Thanks in advance

I have about 25 old Mossberg .22's. Something about the mannlicher stocked guns that really appeal to me. I think that many of the old Mossbergs were unique in one way or another compared to other brands in their day. I have a 26B that I'm thinking of selling as I have duplicates of them (and need to make room for another that's coming).

Like any gun, it all depends on condition and how original/complete it is meaning does it have all the sights including peep, as well as the sling swivels and bolt dust cover. If you like to have a complete gun, it costs quite a bit nowadays to buy missing items afterward so the gun should be bought accordingly. Also, is it a US property marked military trainer. If so, it will bring more money. So, I have seen model 44's range from $100.00 to $375.00 depending on circumstances of the gun but an average condition non serial numbered one is probably between $150.00 and $200.00. Nicer conditioned ones will be higher.

I've always liked the idea of the stock tube feed semi-autos (151 and 351 I think?) and I've been thinking maybe I should finally get around to picking one up. But so far I am Mossberg-less. There are certainly quite a number of different models out there... I'm mostly concerned about where I'd stop if I started!

For the stock fed semi-auto's there were the models 50, 51, 51M, 151M, 151k and 351. As far as where would you stop with collecting Mossbergs? Well if you go to Rimfire Central on the Mossberg forum you will discover a disease called Mossbergitis or "Mossberg Fever." If you buy one old Mossberg .22 you will catch the disease and it is highly unlikely that you will be able to stop collecting them. Maybe that is why the prices for them have been increasing the past couple of years. They are very addicting so you have been warned.

I just picked up another one at the local gunshow-a 352K.It wasn't pretty, had a chip out of the tenite forestock and multiple coats of some sort of finish. It had an old 3/4''Aimpoint'' scope. The seller wanted $125-and when I picked it up said to ''give me $100 and you can have it''

So, it came home with me,and was stripped down and cleaned. The bore looked good, the bluing wasn't bad and once the stock was sanded down and refinished was actually quite nice walnut.I reshaped the chipped corner forestock and matched it both sides-not original but looks fine.I don't think it is quite as accurate as my other two bolt action mossbergs[one ragged hole] but still plenty good enough for shooting the heads off grouse.

I figure these old mossbergs while not collectors are good shooters and for about $100-$150 you can have a lot of fun with them.I get as much enjoyment out of refinishing them as shooting them.

I have a Mossberg 144LS that I purchased at a gun show for $150. A Mossberg 342K I got in trade. My baby is a Mossberg 44US I bought from the CMP for $167 total.

I'm looking at a Mossy 42 or 46 next. It really is a disease.

Got a model 51M, 151M(b), 144LSB, had a few more model 151s and 152s but was talked out of them. My 144 shoots out to over 200 yards when out gopher shooting. These old girls are accuracy dynamos

Mossy's

I have 3, 146b-a, 144LSB and 44US a, all three shoot well and are complete. I am after a semi for my collection next but prices seem to rising on these Mossbergs.
