Mossberg confusion

I just ordered a Mossberg 500 with 18.5 and 28 barrles from Cabelas
The fella there said that the mag cap wasn't dripped and tapped
I understood that they all came with the mag cap ready for swivel studs
Can anyone clarify?

All the new ones are drilled and tapped for studs, each barrel has its own tapped cap too. You can find the studs for a few bucks. Suprised a guy at a cabelas or bass pro even knew what drilled and tapped meant (then again he did say "dripped and tapped")

I got a 590A1 and it is. However the stud didn't come with the gun

The guy I talked with seemed ok, but you never know
If the mag caps don't come drilled and tapped I guess I will just get my machinist neighbour to do it for me, he can be bribed with beer

I've never seen one that wasn't drilled and tapped. Some don't come with the swivel stub however. All of my combo barreled guns only provided 1 stud.

If you have one cap with a stud, you can switch them out. PM me if this is the case, I'll tell you how.
