I have emailed Mossberg to ask if they plan to offer an adapter to allow their Flex system to be used on Remington 870s. No answer yet.
I need a a way to quickly remove and install a butt stock, to get the taken down 870 to fit in my waterproof cargo boxes in my canoe. With the short barrels we can use in Canada, removing the butt stock makes the gun quite short for packing. And, given that it is not fireable with the standard stock removed, it does not become restricted in its broken down for storage state. Pistol grip stocks won't work, as with the buttstock removed they become too short,( under 26 inches) and remain fireable, which is not allowed under Canadian regulations.
The Flex system looks like the best solution so far. I will post the answer from Mossberg.
