Dont think that the action opening on its own when you fire a pump/slide action shotgun is normal.

Mind you I'm dumber than a woodtick and have never owned a Mossberg so other opinions may vary.

Just what you would call such a feature..?

I have the same deal. with my mossberg 500 with the the ar-retractable stock. When I shoot 3'' slugs, or buck, iv tried it one handed to see make sure it wasnt me doing a fast action (doesnt feel good) but if you think about it there is so much energy coming out of such a compact shotgun that its proboly not un common for the slide to shoot back after shooting a 3'' slug or 3'' 000.

I meant that it might not be locking forward properly due to the action release being screwed up,I never need the action release to cycle,but ive heard of the button sticking and it not locking forward when chamering a round and opening up when you fire.

If your shotgun fires with an unlocked action, you'd have bigger problems then just the action cycling.. I see where you're coming from now.
