Mossberg Just In Case Question

what do you mean "just in case"? just in case of what?

easy is a relative term. I find it fairly easy to change the stock on my 870. not fast (JIC) but easy.

yes any mdl 500 or 590 stock will fit the JIC shotguns... and for the hippie, gain some knowledge.

I was looking at one of these in Stillwater in Ladner, seems like a neat package deal to toss in the trailer or truck....couple boxes of shells and away you go....

Indeed, seems like a cool package in a weather resistant tube(with a carry strap) :shotgun:

SHTF and you can go to town.

Or... if your truck has a deep roof line...and would dare venture into one of these prospects...

Hmm...yeah, one might have to explain to the nice constable that it is in fact securely out of sight.

Although for the car user, assuming it isn't a hatch and has a real trunk, getting one mounted under the rear wind windshield inside the truck area would be a 'Just in case scenario too.

Is it legal to put a few shells in the tube with the gun inside together when carrying the tube in the woods out of hunting season (fishing, hiking)? Do I need to lock the trigger in the above scenario? Thanks.

Ya know - I handled one of those in the store and the action was... sticky. I didn't like it that much... Maybe it was just the one I had...

Yes, but check your local provincial hunting regs as it may vary from one province to the next... As for the trigger lock, the same applies. For example, in Québec, you are ok to bring a shotgun with you in the woods, but the hunting regs say that in a vehicule, it must be locked 1/2 hour before and after sunset (the same as the legal hunting hours).

the actions on the mossbergs i tried were all very smooth. mine was a little rough when i first got it, but after i got all the packing grease off and cycled it 102930 times, it became pretty smooth :)
