A friend of mine, who lives far away from here, has gotten his hands on a Mossberg Model 395, 12 ga shotgun. He tells me it is a lever action shotgun, quite old.

He is wondering where he might get a replacement lever.
Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone know the history of this particular model?
Anyone have a link to some pictures of this model?

Thanx in advance.

Trouble is your friend doesn't know the difference between a lever and a bolt.

It's a bolt action shotgun.

Made from 1963 into the 1980s.

There was a Kessler leveraction shotgun ,ade in relatively large numbers post WW2. Maybe it is one of these. It certainly isn't a Mossberg 395.
If it is a Kessler, Numrich Arms - Gun Parts Corp - w ww.e-gunparts.com would be a place to start looking for parts.

The 395 being a bolt action dovetails with what I had been able to trackdown.
Western gun parts indicated they might be able to supply "395" parts. The exact model of firearm now remains to be determined.

I wish to thank those respondants who submitted, considered, valuable information.

I may have the complete gun in my collection. They go VERY cheap and are quite common. My guess is there are several models that are similar. I see a ot of mossy bolt shotguns.
