Mossberg & Maverick stocks interchangeable?

Dumb question time. I am guessing the Mossberg 590 and Maverick stocks are interchangeable? I know there are some differences between these guns.

Yes and no. Any rear stocks will fit it but any after market parts on the forend like grips and such that are compatible with the 500/590 will not fit on the maverick 88. You need to replace the forend assembly with a 500 model one.

I have a pistol grip buttstock on my maverick and it works fine. The instalation manual syas that their line of accessories are interchangable between mav88, mossberg500 and 590.

Besides the Maverick mfg'd. by Mossberg, they also marketed a 12ga. pump [interchangable within the family]
sold by Western Auto, it's been years since these have been sold, but there are some still on the market.
