I bought a Mossberg MVP Varmint in .223 a little over a year ago. I bought the rifle and scope combo from Cabelas. It came with a barska scope that was adequate for a time. I recently bought a new scope and went to mount it today only to find the bases aren't standard weaver rails, the groove is to narrow for the TPS rings that came with the new scope.
When I took the bases off the rifle, so I can take them to a store and get new ones, I realized they are not the same. The front one is more rounded opposed to the back one is much flater.
I looked at the Mossberg website and couldn't find the information. Does anyone know what base numbers I need? Is it possible to mount a one piece rail to this action? Any help would be great.
