I purchased this .22 in the mid 60's and have had troubles with it stove-piping on me fairly frequently. I took it to a gunsmith in August and he still has not been able to fix the problem. He says he is now trying to get a new magazine for it to see if that solves the problem. I have also sent an email to Mossberg asking them if they can suggest how to remedy the issue. Have not heard back from them as yet but hopefully sometime in early January they will reply.
Has anyone else with this firearm had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Chances are the feed lips need to be adjusted or the mag needs to be taken apart and cleaned. Older magazines can have dirt in them that will cause them to not feed properly.I find semi's to be more fussy with feeding. A lot of times they will not be adjusted the same on both sides on the feed lips or spaced correctly and will cause all kinds of issues. I've bought lots of older Mossbergs with the same issues and with some trial and error they all got fixed.

Also forgot to mention. The guide bar that the magazine clips onto could need to be adjusted as well. The model closest to what you have would likely be a 352 Mossberg as far as adjustments.

Here is a site that might be of some help. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the curled arrow it will bring up another page. In the magazine section it tells you how to adjust the bar.
