mossberg night train who has them?

The consensus on here is stay the hell away from these things! Some have em and don't report any issues, but the lemon rate is really high! Issues with bolt handles seperating from the bolt are very common! There are a lot of far better firearms out there for the money! Stevens 200, Savage 11/111, Marlin XL7/XS7, and there are a million great reviews on these guns! I would personally go with the Stevens and spend some cash on a real good scope, and then start looking for a stock!

Tried the search engine, I went back a month, but nothing.
Kind of a shame, I got cranked up by the looks. Thats why its worth posting before you buy.
thanks

Was that the one that one of the guys had the barrel fall off? Or was that a Rem 710?

I have a friend that had that happen with an HS Precision rifle. As he fired it, the bbl unscrewed from the receiver. Whoops.

On the subject of the Mossberg rifles, I know two people who have bought them, both were major lemons. I can't speak to the rest of them, but that's not a good start in my book. If you're looking for inexpensive, look at a Stevens, or a Howa. Good quality rifles for a good price, generally. - dan

My brother has one (Night Train package with Barsks scope etc). Before he even fired it I passed in the info to him from Why not?'s thread, and I think I freaked him out. He inquired with two retailers where he lives and they told him they never heard of such problems and were not getting rifles returned. I still see them for sale at other big retailers like Cabelas, as well. I'm leery of them myself, due to the information on this site, but after a fair amount of poking around on the internet and a couple of chats with retailers as well, I'm not seeing any evidence of widespread problems or anything.
