I'm inexperienced with long(er) range shooting and what not. The descriptions of all these different kinds of optics/combinations is just making me dizzy. I want only one calibre, a .308 so I can take it to the range or hunting. Not likely to ever hunt anything requiring a bigger calibre so I was looking at a Mossberg Night Train ready to go out of the box scope and all. I despise the idea of building/modding/tinkering/dealing with gunsmiths (which is why I bought a Glock) I know you get what you pay for based on my other sports where I actually can tell the difference between high and entry level equipment. I get that part but I just don't think I love shooting enough to spend $3000+ on a "good" rifle.
How bad can this rifle possibly be?
