Maybe it's just me, but I think Mossberg rifles are junk. Way better options in that price range. Marlin/Savage/Stevens specifically.

I had a Mossberg 4x4, it was ok. Then I got rid of it and picked up a Marlin XS7. It's much much better.

if your other option is a remington 710 or 770... get the Mossberg... lol.

Buy a used 700, or Parker Hale, or Winchester, or (gasp) Salvage. Just don't buy the Mossberg.

Have to disagree here. I have a 4X4 in 300 win mag and can't find anything seriously wrong with it. Groups well under 1", never malfunctions or fails to feed, and I've fired several hundred rounds out of it. The trigger could be better (mine doesn't have the adjustable trigger). The only thing I'd wonder about is how tough the stock would be. I've never really banged it around. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, especially with the LBA trigger, and the new ported barrels.

Keep in mind that for $400 or so, you won't be getting a Tikka or Sako, but you will get a reliable, accurate rifle.

Depends, some of the older ones are just rebranded Howas......just like the WBY Vanguard.

Some of the recent models have had very bad reviews.

Once I saw Mossberg put that ridiculous muzzle break on one of their 22's of all things I gave up all hope for that company.
