Got what I concider a good deal on a Mossberg Rolling Thunder.

Now...to make some changes.

First of all I want to loose the 'suppressor' off the front with something more moderate. I'd leave it off completely but that would leave exposed threads.

Secondly, put on an adjustable stock. I'm thinking ATI.

Suggestions?

Any stock is going to be an improvement. Nothing on Earth is more useless than a shotgun with no stock.
"...the 'suppressor'..." Muzzle brake. Leave it on until you get a stock and shoot it.

Thanks. I paid just under 5 for it. Being new to shotguns I bought it for 'practical' purposes and to have some fun. 4 liter milk jugs full of water on a fence post don't last long....

I actually wanted the Cruiser but couldn't find any at the time. In hind sight I should have waited or bought something with a stock.

As money permits I hope to make it a little more user friendly. Live and learn....

i picked one up for pretty cheap, im taking off the muzzle brake and replacing it with a much smaller breacher style brake, the great thing about taking off the muzzle brake is that the barrel is only about 16 1/2 inches. i put a mesa tactical adapter kit with FDE magpul moe stock and pistol grip. ill post pictures of the final product.

if it fits in your budget, get the Knoxx SpecOps stock. i used to scoff at these but now that i actually use one i think theyre the best thing since sliced bread.

dont get he cheaper NRS version, it defeats the entire purpose of the stock.

3" remington sluggers have pretty heavy recoil, and hes firing them 1-handed. youd be nuts to try that with a solid stock.

I have that Knoxx stock on my Mossy 590, too. I'll second that it works great, way less recoil and stays on target well for the next shot. The front end of the stock is goofy looking as all heck though. As for the 500, I think you paid too much. Oh well. Hey does anyone know of good options to replace the cheap brass bead "nipple" sight?

i tried one from TruGlo on my Mossy Persuader, but it didnt index properly. in the end i got it to stay indexed with a thin shim, but honestly theyre not all they are cracked up to be and are very distracting. a plain brass bead is better, and i can see why they have endured so long. besides, youre not supposed to be looking AT the sight, youre supposed to be looking at your target.

I suggest a normal black synthetic stock. Anything with a pistol grip is not practical with the position of the safety button on the 500. The 870 is an other thing tough.

the ATI is a decent stock, I have one on my Maverick 88. And if you're looking for something fun, try shooting a watermelon with a 1oz. rifled slug!

Thanks. Saw one on a Remington 870 today at Phoenix and was impressed. Asked about getting one brought in and was told they were prohibited. ????????

Can you recommend a Canadian supplier please.

P&D had a bunch around last time I was there...

The Shooting Edge has some listed on their website under "Firearms Parts and Accessories" and under Knoxx.
