Hey all... Was looking through the Mossberg 2011 catalog, and came across the SA-20. Does anyone have one or has shot one? And where in Canada would I find one (I'm close enough to Winnipeg and have checked both Cabela's and WSS, they don't stock them)? I'm looking for the 26" or 28" vr barrel setup with the 5 chokes. This purchase will mostly be used for upland game with my wife at the controls....

Thanks in advance....

Hi there,

I got mine from "gobles.ca" almost 2 years ago. Its a great little shotgun. Mine has the 26" barrel and it comes with everything you need as well as 4 chokes. I love it. Its a light little gun, and points fast. The parts fit very tight and there is no rattling. I've only shot trap with it so far, and it works great with light target rounds.

The only thing that you need to be careful of is to clean it well once you get it, and keep it clean after every use. Otherwise, it can fail to eject with light loads.

Good luck, and I think you'll like it.

w.w.w.

Bumping this thread...curious to know how other owners like them. Interested in picking-up a 20ga., and like the looks/value of this one.

Looking forward to your responses.

These are the same guns as the Weatherby SA-08 20ga models. They are made in Turkey and are a very close copy of the older Beretta A-300 series semi-auto shotguns with the most notable difference being in the gas piston and mag tube assemblies. I know a few people with the 12ga. models and so far have been reliable.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not getting the sense that these guns have a big following yet. I think they look good, and the price point seems reasonable. I've never stripped-down a gas-operated shotgun for cleaning before, what's that job like?

It's very simple...with these shotguns being some of the simplest. Follow the steps in the owners manual. Take your time and lay the parts out in the order they came off. Re-assemble in reverse order.
