So I purchased a Mossberg Shockwave a few weeks ago from my local gun store as my dedicated hiking gun. I had it out for the first time last weekend and when I got back to the truck proceeded to unload it, or try to unload it would be a more fitting statement.

The first shell loaded, extracted but did not eject. I had to pull it out of the ejection port manually (stuck on the extractor). All subsequent shells did not load, they didn't even budge from the tube. I had to push whatever part keeps the shells in the magazine to get them out. I proceeded to load the shotgun a few other times and the same thing happened every time.

Anyone know if this is a common issue with Mossberg 590's and shockwaves? I thought I'd spend a little more for quality vs. the Turkish guns but am very disappointed.

Next step is contacting Wolverine for warranty but just wanted to find out if this is a common issue from other gunnutz.

What time of ammo are you using? I suspect cheap low brass shells may be the issue. Also inspect the extractor for burrs.

Short answer - no, it's not common.

For pump actions, since the 870 is not currently in production, the 590 series is the best made pump action out there at the moment, in my opinion. Even when 870's are available, it's a coin flip as to which is better. Getting a lemon happens, but it's VERY uncommon. If you bought it new, and it's the gun's fault, you warranty will sort you out.

Sounds like a bent shell stop, if you search the Internet it is a common 590 thing. Had the same problem with a brand new 590, looked on YouTube and found a video on how to straighten it properly and now it works fine. I ordered a spare shell stop and cartridge interrupter just in case.
