Hi, looking for a over/under for my buddy, Frontier has some "factory seconds" of the Mossberg Rilver reserve in 12ga. on special, seem very reasonable. Anyone have any experience with these scatterguns, and what can I expect from the "factory second" description? I know you usually get what you pay for, but just for a knock around gun, most of its work will likely be on clay pigoens in the back 40. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

sliver reserve

I asked them about a 20ga they had as a factory second and it had 3 different spots on the butt stock that had marks from sanding, one was a 1/4'' wide. not sure how long. All the metal was good.

got a 12 guage silver reserve put between 10 -15 thousand rounds of trap loads through shooting sporting clays and about 250 hunting loads though it. Do Not DRY FIRE or the firing pins will break! for the price I'm happy with mine.

I own a Silver Reserve (factory second) and basically the reason many of these guns are seconds are due to cosmetic reasons, nicks or dents in the wood, scratches on the barrel or the receiver. The workings of the firearms are still fine. I have used mine a great deal and absolutely love it for the price, pretty tough to beat.

Thanks folks, i'm sure it'll be a while before this guy rattles off 10 to 15 thousand rounds haha, so i'll tell him to give them a call. Much appreciated
