Mossberg Tactical .22 Issue - Bolt Handle

Hey guys,

Last few times I've taken the Mossberg out to poke paper, the bolt handle will engage in the open position after firing every three or four rounds. I didn't have an issue until I stripped and cleaned it.

Anybody else had/seen this? Any suggestions?
 
Bang on! Just a question, is your handle curved like a trigger or round like a pencil?
I have owned both versions of mossys and I hear that they replaced the 702 trigger for a new fat straight one. If you have the curved one, make sure the bolt is against the extracting side and the charging handle is against the other side and almost touching the top of the housing. I know getting the bolt in and out is a pain!

It appears to be back in correctly, but the handle (trigger-shaped) has a little play in it. That has to be the issue I'm thinking... and I don't know how to remedy it. Although, now that I think of it, my spring has a bit of a kink in it as well. I wonder if that is pushing the bolt slightly to the left in the action, causing the handle to catch?
 
Sitting here wondering if I should take apart the whole thi g or just clean the barrel I started thinking. Is there and extended charging handle for this? If so where and how much and would it be a simple swap or would I need some special tool.
I really like the look of the new flat top charging handle plus even for my small hands the original charging handle is small.
 
Yes sort of forgot to mention that its the carry Handle version. I believe from the pics I've seen the flat top has a bigger charging handle thus my charging handle envy. It's a terrible thing lol
 
My flat top has the small charging handle ,i to would like to change it . Does anyone know where you can find 25 round mags for this rifle?

I bought some from reliable gun and I also think one of the above dealers has a thread saying they are in stock. Ps. Don't buy one buy TWO!

Anyone know of an original or aftermarket larger charging handle for the carry handle version?
 
you can't replace the pistol grip . it's all molded together to form 2 pieces i'm going to call mossberg in Ontario tomorrow to find out if i can get the larger charging handle be good dude !!

sorry tinman! its got a great home now, i know i cant change the pistol grip, ill have to do some modification to it, my neighbour builds guitars, maybe he can make me a wooden inlay, im not sure, maybe some electrical tape, or smooth it over with a dremel

Just get a limbsaver slip-on grip and it'll help tremendously. I put one on mine and love it. I find it fills my hand a little better. I think it was $10 a wholesale sports.

Glad you like her! I'm guessing the sharp edges on the seams are bugging you? Just smooth em out with some 2000 grit. I never really knowticed the seems ( I have rough laborer hands!) but I remember someone else that was over here commenting about the grip.
