This gun is kind of like one of those chicks you pick up at the bar at 2am. Its good from far, but far from good.
I think I will pay a little bit extra and get a 597vtr or go big or go home and get the sr22.

This is the closest looking .22 AR that's made that is non-restricted.
Sadly the quality isn't the greatest and that there isn't a high capacity mag available for it....

Bottom line, if you have you heart set on an SR22, don't buy the Mossberg. No comparison between the two.
Same as Tapco and Nordic.....Archangel and Evo....etc., etc.
They're 2 separate playing fields and I'm sure most of people here are wise to that.
But you know what....the majority of Mossy Tactical owners seem to be happy with them so far!!
And when anything like that happens, it seems to bring the hemorrhoid sufferers, wishers and wannabes out of the wood work...![]()
Agreed. The new mossberg is without a doubt the coolest-looking $300-ish rimfire out there. If I hadn't already scratched the tactical-rimfire itch with an SR22, I would certainly consider buying one myself. In fact I might even pick one up sometime in the future when they start showing up on the EE for 200-250 bucks.
I hear one of the shops on Vancouver Island, Island Outfitters?, is selling them at the $249.99 range already. My only complaint is the crappy trigger but I will do a trigger job in the winter, it doesn't look any harder than a 10/22, and then this thing will rock

I looked at the 702 tactical like this.
Since it's a gift for my son who absolutely loves anything tactical/military and want's to come shooting with me, it fits the bill.
It's basically the same price as a decent airsoft AR style gun and way more useful and practical.
Just like the NA Mini Master .22 wheel gun. Super high marks for coolness and yet fully functional.
The Mossy is like the girl that looks hot, only has eyes for you and while she's no wonderful chef can still cook without being super high maintenance.
That plus you can take her any place without a lot of fuss, AKA non restricted!
Well that's quite the deal! So maybe I'll wait for them to start showing up on the EE for 175-ish then!![]()

Kind of want.
Edit: Yes, I want it D:
Edit: That sucks that it is a pos. Any other taticool .22s for that price range?

it sucks? my 11 year old girl is itching to get it out to the range, and her reaction when it came out of the box was "ohwowthatssocool".
Yeah it's a pain in the ass taking all the plastic off to do a field strip, but at the end of the day it's a neat looking piece with a 702 plinkster heart. Can't be all bad.
I don't know where you get POS from. I like mine alot and I have a few .22's to make a comparison with. So far ir has eaten everything I have shot through it including some old Remington longs without any problems at all. It also has a high coolness factor. My only complaints are the lack of a high cap mag and a fairly heavy trigger. The mags are coming and the trigger is no worse than any other stock semi-auto .22 trigger I have ever tried. I just don't see POS.

Well I just read this thread and some forums from the web and people didn't like it that much.
