Mossberg Tactical .22

Was your bolt locked back when you were trying to drop the mag? If not pull the action back and lock it by pushing the handle in. Mine took lots of force till i noticed that!

I was using the Federal hollow points from the 525 box, seem to work excellent compared to the remington thunderbolt crap I used with my lever gun before. You could hear the difference in sound from round to round with the remington junk, some would make a nice "crack" some would make more of a "thud" sound. The "thud" rounds were on average 1/4" low as compared to the others at 50 metres! American eagle also worked well as did the winchester wildcats I have tried.
In regards to the bolt being held open, even with the bolt locked back, it would still have a hard time releasing the mag until the very limit of the release levers' travel. I have an idea on how to fix this, as the release lever seems to already be moving to the halfway point of its travel with the mag inserted, I may look into building up the cam area a little bit so I will have full rotation again with the mag in place. With no mag inserted, it looks as if there is a large amount of movement available to the lock mechanism that is un needed. Perhaps a little bend in the lock paddle to the rear of the gun will tighten this up. I will look at it again in a day or 2 to see if it helps!

A couple of toys arrived for the mossberg and have been installed. The cheekpiece really works well, gets your face right up there for the high sight. I really like the Magpul AFG2 also. I'm just a sucker for dressing things up:D Now if my high-cap mags would only show up:(

From the pics I have seen, it doesn't look as cheap as some people have suggested. Does it really look/feel much cheaper than an SR22? I would think the price difference would make up for it.

Anxious to see what the higher capacity mags look like. One thing I never liked about the SR22 high capacity mags was how skinny they look.

It's a plastic shell on a Plinkster, what can I say, it feels like a plastic shell on a Plinkster. That said I don't think it is going to fall apart or anything. It's a fun $300 toy that looks pretty cool and shoots OK but I am going to do a trigger job pretty soon.

I'll post it anyway..... Here it is.

Good morning,

Thank you for your e-mail. We do apologize for the delay, currently we are receiving a lot of e-mails and are trying our best possible to answer each and every one. Unfortunately, they haven’t informed us of making a magazine with a higher capacity of shells. The only one that we have available would be for the 10 round magazine. Should you have further questions feel free to contact product service toll free number or via e-mail.

Subject: Mossberg Tactical .22 Magazines

Hi, I am considering purchasing a Mossberg Tactical .22 with an adjustable stock. My question is Mossberg going to be making a high capacity magazine for this rifle anytime soon. I would hope so because I own a Ruger 10/22 and love the fact I can purchase 25rd magazines. Thank you for your time.

I'm hoping it's a lack of communication that this Edna does not know that "they" will be shipping them out this week?

All I want for xmas is a bucket full of high cap mossberg mags.

Just my take, but it sounds like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.
Believe it or not, that happens A LOT in big corporations......

Wheeler, you didn't send your email to the right place. That is just a service center, not the company itself. They are making the 25rnd mags and hopefully they will be here for Christmas. I will post a pic later today. The shipping of them was delayed due to a paperwork screw-up but they are coming. FYI Mossberg is in North Haven, CT not TX and here is their contact email for Canada exportsales@mossberg.com .
