Yes, another post on this rifle. But I want to return the feedback favour! Thanks to my fellow CGNrs I decided on this and although I haven't used it yet, I already love it. I am new to shooting and wanted something cool/new to learn with. After reading the reviews and opinions I felt comfortable going ahead with the purchase. Wanstalls has a great price(and for mags) plus $10 flat shipping. Got it within 5 business days, they are great. Some food for thought for fellow newbies:
- people have said it's light, but I found it has some good weight and balance
-the plastic does not seem as cheap as some people have commented, the rails are very solid, I am already pricing scopes and vertical grips!
-there is a bit of a gap when the mag is inserted, but it's not loose and I dont think it's a big deal
-mag release works fine with one hand
- it looks and feels fkn cool!

If anyone wants to recommend scopes and vertical grips I am all ears.

Thanks!

I picked one up last week.

Had a great time at Silverdale with it, though it wasn't very accurate with the stock sights. Picked up a red dot today, and ordered a rail riser on fleabay, and ordered a bunch of mags from Wanstalls. Can't find those things locally at all.

If you add abit of foam tape between the top of the mag and the rifle. It sure helps with the rattle.
I also don't use much oil. Seems to not need as much cleaning then!

I got hit hard by the Mossy tact bug...:HR:

Clean it before shooting
It'll have a heavier oil , for long time storage , all over the bolt/chamber.
Use very little lube.

I get all my stuff off ebay , except mags , were I get them from my local gunshop.

Some thoughts of tacticool acessories

- optics ( that's your choice but don't go too cheap ...you definatley get what you pay for)
- sling ( I use a 3 point sling along with a sling swivel that attaches to the rail )
- rail covers
- angled fore grip ( AFG )
-verticle fore grip
- high rise rail ( needed for most optics on the 715T FT)
-butt pad ( mine's a for the M4)
- cheekriser ( sometimes hard to find )
- bipod ( need a high one to clear the mag off the bench , *don't use the mag as a rest ! )
- laser ( go green )

Totally agree, green laser. Good RDS, I went over kill and got an HD7. Was as much as the gun but if I ever buy a real gun, I have the scope to go with it.
Funny thing is, every time I went to the range and unloaded a mag or two really fast. Everyone stoped to watch, looked at my grouping and then wanted to know what gun it was. When they found out it was the mossberg almost everyones jaw droped. I've heard
soooooo many people complain about how plasticy this gun is and it lameness. However when they see my groups and that I have no FTF, FTE, opinions change. Atleast for the most part. There will always be haters out there!

Has anyone removed the stock mussle break?

Glad to see people that buy them enjoy them, I picked up one in the store and it felt cheap to me, I'm much happier that I went with a 10/22 and a archangel stock.

I pick one up from a fellow gunnut here on the ee and have had nothing but good things to say about it ive but every different type of ammo through it and it functions fine..

I shot one at the local indoor range before buying a flat top. I waited a long while for Cabella's to finaly get the flat top but it was worth the wait. It'll blow through boxes and boxes of 22lr without fail.

Now it's time to tacticool it right up!!

I bought the 715 T flat top from Cabela's a couple of months back. I've decked it out with foregrips, laser sight, flashlight, 10x scope, collapsible stock and have bought a variety of .22lr loads; including the 'latest and greatest' tactical ammo made by Winchester; the M22. Junk. I've cleaned this baby every 250 rounds and it has MEGA problems with jamming and ejecting spent cartridges. Hollow points jam nearly every shot in my gun and with Remington, Winchesters', including CCI, I am jamming every 5th-10th shot which is absolutely unacceptable.

I won't ##### aboot the gun being plastic/polymer or anything like that as alot of elite gun manufacturers such as Smith and Wesson and Glock carry polymer guns for their tactical lines. In my opinion, it only makes for a lighter gun, of which will be compensated by the add ons of the scopes, lights, extra rails, etc!

NOW JUST STOP JAMMING ON ME YOU PIECE OF CRAP

Hollywood, have you tried swapping out the magazine?
If you google "Mossberg .22 Tactical Issues" you'll find that there are a lot of issues with bad batches of magazines.
I bought my Mossberg Tactical in the early summer. The first two outings were as you describe...every 2nd shot was a FTF, a stovepipe or jam.
I swapped out the mag (and purchased a 2nd) and now the thing is very dependable.
I oil the loading chamber (lightly, too much is bad) every 250 shots or so.
Since I purchased the new mags it has over 1000 rounds with a total of 4 FTF.

I was thinking it was magazine related, but I do have 5 of them and they were bought one at a time on 5 separate occasions, BUT at the same Cabela's store in Winnipeg so you may be on to something there...

And to be honest, my initial outings with the gun were flawless, but I am now about at 3000 rounds through it and it has started to act up. I'm just gonna keep pumping rounds through it until she finds her groove. When you have cleaned it, do you notice any granual sounds in the chamber area, as if it were dropped in sand?! I have other 22 rifles (which AREN'T semi auto) and none of them seem to be leaving this grainy of a residue...
