The actual feel of the rifle was "off" would be the best way to describe it. It felt like I was about to play a round of airsoft BS or something.
We used Winchester Wildcat, CCI Blazers, Remington Thunderbolts & Cyclones and some Federals from the wally world bulk pack.
It started to jam 5 rounds into the wildcats.
The Thunderbolts worked well enough.
The Cyclones were a no go.
The Federals experienced about one FTF per mag and the CCI ran good until about we hit the 400 overall round count for the day. Then it HAD to be cleaned as it was continuous FTF or FTE. Cleaning solved it and the CCI's were good to go.
Accuracy.. I'd like to see a video of someone shooting "awesome groups" with it as I won't believe a still picture of an "awesome target" supposedly shot with this gun; not based on what we experienced. The targets we shot were 2" groups at best at 15 yards and opened up to about 3.5" at 50 yards and those are benched BTW.
As mentioned it's better than not buying anything but not by much.
I would recommend a 10/22 for sure over this as it is probably the best performer in the price range. If you want the tactical look the sr22 will do it for you but at twice the price or step it up price wise and get the M&P or Colt. If you want a hands-on build then get a 10/22 and buy the kit of your cohice (archangel etc) to give it the tacti-cool look.
I'm not sure I'd even buy it as a cheap starter for a kid who would think it was cool, certainly not for an adult as a great rimfire rifle.
If money is an issue then go to a bolt action. Same price would get you an overall better rifle with increased accuracy for sure.
Just my $0.02 because you asked me
Regards,
