mossberg vs stoeger

Hi has anyone ever used both of these shot gun ?I would like to a buy Mossberg 935 magnum 3.5'' chamber 12ga semi-auto shot gun or stoeger model 2000 3''chamber 12ga semi-auto shot gun either one for ducks and goose hunt but no idea which one is better ?I know moosy is gas operate system to eject the shell out of the gun,how about stoeger ? is the same or recoil system to eject the shell ? any help would be appreciated,thanks a lot!!!
 
The Stoeger 2000 uses a licensed version of the Benelli inertial action. Actually, Stoeger had reverse-engineered [AKA copied] the system, which was easily actionable under patent law. But Benelli chose instead to acquire them and issue them a 'license' for the technology.

The Stoeger kicks a bit, since it lacks porting or mercury recoil reducers, and doesn't bleed off gas like the 935 or Remington 1100/11-87. It is pretty much bulletproof though, and once broken in will cycle any loads (light target to heavy steel or slugs) with no adjustment required, and no FTL or FTE.

Mossberg has a great reputation for durability, and parts and service are probably far more available across Canada. And of course, it's available in 3.5"--if that's a requirement, then the Stoeger is out of the running.

I have the 935 and it cycles everything from light trap to 3 1/2". The gun really does soak up the recoil well. I thought the 3 1/2" would be brutal but was pleasently surprised. The overbored barrel patterns great and best of all is the ability for you to adjust the drop yourself in about 5min. Fit is everything in a shotgun and the user adjust feature is what sold me. Oh and I love parkered guns.

I also got the 935 I've been feeding it 3 1/2" steel this waterfowl season and it's never jammed. I took it rabbit hunting a couple weeks ago in -12C and it even cycles 1 1/8"oz low brass @ 1145FPS.

When you first get it completely strip and clean it (get the grease out). That includes the spring and tube in the stock. As Lee mentioned lightly oil it with a good gun oil like FP10 that stays fluid at low temperatures.

Congratulations cityhunter.

You made the right choice. The gas-operated 935's softer felt recoil is easier to live with than the hard kicking inertia (recoil) driven Stoeger.

The fact that it can handle 3.5" shells is a bonus.

Make sure you brake in your shotgun with heavy loads before starting to use the lighter ones.

Yes, pics and a range report on how it handles the 2 3/4 if you decide to try it out with those. That is what is keeping me from buying one at the moment.

Hulala..... there're so many moosy935 fans here,you guys gave me good advice and I will slightly oil it as you say before I use it and break it with heavy load first but I don't know why I have to use heavy first instead of light load ? thanks a lot!!!

I've owned both. Both are good value. For the $$$ I still own the Stoeger. The mossy is a bit eaiser on the shoulder. Being gas operated. The down side of the mossy is it has trouble cycling 2 3/4 loads. So if you plan on a few range trips with it to practice. I would opt for the Stoeger. Hope this helps.

No, I am going to use moosy for ducks and goose hunt so I will use 3'' or 3.5'' # 2or# BB shot,should be no problem,right???
 
I forgot to mention that the Mossy is parkered. So after you strip and oil it put lots of oil on the barrel and let it soak in to the parkerizing.

Hi there I got my mossy935 and test fired for 50 shots with 3'' shell#BB and #2 shots,it's awesome,never jammed,it's much more than it's worth,I love it,Ducks and Goose is going to have a trouble for the upcoming season haha....... thank you for you all helpful info which you gave me ,thanks again!!!
