Mosseberg on a Remington?

Has anyone used the Mosseberg barrel made for a Remington 870 as a replacement barrel. It is a fraction of the cost of buying from Remington so I am wondering what is being compromised or is it just that Remington charges too much?

Mossberg made barrels for Remington 870's as aftermarket replacements for awhile. So yes. Remington is over-priced.

As I recall the Mossberg barrels are heavy and really good...go for it! They'll fit, they're made for the application.

I bought an 18.5" mossberg barrel for my 870 last year, it works great and I wuoldn't hesitate to buy another.

No you can't take a barrel from a mossberg shotgun and put it on a remington.
But Mossberg makes barrels for remington 870's.

I think the 870 is way better than a Mossberg...aluminum ha...
