I bought a 500 package a few months ago and was just wondering if something could be done to eliminate that foregrip wobble...

I was thinking of heating up 2-4 thin nails and pushing them downwards into the plastic stock, pressing up against the barrel they might reduce the foregrip play.... right?

has anyone tried to mod their 500 to fix that annoying wobble?

I currently have three and have worked on multiple others. All have the wobble, all work seemlessly, and all are amazing guns for the price. The 500 is to the 870 like the AK-47 is to the M-14. The AK might not be as tight and accurate as the M14, and it may not have as many goodies...... but it's cheap and super reliable. I bought a cheap 500 where the owner probably hadn't cleaned or maintained the gun AT ALL. 10-15 minutes of cleaning and tightening a couple of very important screws and the gun was fit as a fiddle.

On my old 500A, I put some of those sticky felt pads on the inside of the aforementioned foregrip. While it didn't completely remove the wobble, it cut a hell of a lot of the play out of it.

The only reason the wobble annoys me is the metal-on-metal rattling sound that it makes when I'm hunting. So I did what Finicky Timbers advised, and stuck some small felt pads in between the tube and the forend. The wobble isn't completely gone, but the sound sure is. No more spooked game!

Erik.
