The Delta Waterfowl Gun of the year this year is the Silver Reserve. I was thinking of buying one anyway, but have heard very bad things about it. Does anyone have first hand experience on one. Give the good, bad and ugly. I am at the point where I would like an O/U, but not ready to break the bank to get one. On the other hand, I have not had alot of trigger time on any O/U, so I may not really enjoy them. Let me hear the reviews...

Buddy bought himself one for Christmas. He's happy with it. Getting better scores shooting trap than with his 870. The recoil pad blows old, mangy, venereally diseased goats though. Barrel selector switch takes a bit of care to use but is improving with use. Actions a bit touh to break open but again, is improving with use and severe cleaning.
The filler did fall out of the...not sure what to call it...if you're lookin down the spout there is the top and bottom barrel, brazed together in the middle, and a piece that runs down the length of the join on each side, smoothing out the joint between the two barrels. Right at the muzzle this leaves a doubly triangular void which has been filled with jb weld or something along those lines. One side fell out sometime during he first hundredish rounds through it. Jb weld gummed into the hole and sanded smooth solved the issue though and looks factory.

I had one but sold it, but it was a good gun. My gun was in 28ga my buddy has one in 20ga and loves it for upland. I will be getting one again.

They have pretty rough casting marks on the top of the barrels and the engraving looks like it was done by a pre schooler.

But my friends kid has put well over 800 traps loads through his 20g without any problems.

The engraving on my amigo's looks pretty damn crisp from my stand point. What do I know though, I think my 870 express is a great gun. Can't seem to see those casting marks either, his is just as smooth as my dad's franchi orhis citori. Maybe he got really lucky though.
