Most accurate .22LR takedown?

Marlin Papoose without question. Those Henry Rifles AR7's are no good in my opinion, had one and sold it, they're neat but that is where the buck stops. It would be my very last choice. Rugers are not as accurate as many think, without tweaking. Marlin 795 and Papoose are no nonsense straight shooters, and with last round bolt hold open at half the price of competition.

Savage Rascal :). Seriously, just two screws break it into two very short and super-light pieces. Stock is too short for shoulder, of course, but still long enough for cheek-weld (which is sufficient with overall light-weight in adult hands). If shoulder is absolutely needed, stock can be extended with some simple insert of any length (as recoil pad easily screws off). Single-shot bolt reduces the bulk and weight of ammo you need to carry with you :) Peep sight is quite easy and accurate, though can be custom-improved.

Mine, when unscrewed, fits in the spare pockets of 10/22 takedown bag. Yes, two rifles in one bag :).

Who has the Papoose in stock? They are hard to find. I had one in my hands a few years ago. Damn close to buying it but passed. Now I want one again...

now i kinda wanna get a couple of these together at the same time and compare them.
man would that be an expensive test.

300 for the AR7
450-600 for the Ruger TD
250 for the lil badger
what does the papoos sell for?
thats like $1500 to do a test up for all those.

but i kinda wanna do it.

Looking for a .22LR takedown for vehicle. Ideally, the most compact (shortest OAL disassembled) and most accurate.

The Henry AR-7 seems like a good fit but it doesn't appear to be very accurate even at 25 yds.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

While I like the Henry rifles in general, you cannot get parts for them in Canada. If you feel the rifle will never need another part, its a good go. But if you need parts, you're hooped just like a Mossberg. Both know these things and verify them before you buy.

Reliable and Whole Sale Sports currently have some in stock, well in the last couple weeks anyway. They're kind of hard to get now, as they're not a usual stock item from what I know.

Actually there is a flash sale on WSS right now, close to 100 bucks off the Model 70PSS papoose and nearly 50 off the 795, until August 7th .. buy now while the getting is good.

I found some shortly after I posted. They are much more expensive than when I was last looking at them. That flash sale is decent. $50 less than my local store.
