Most accurate 308 for $1000

Savage .308 F/TR, It is Fricking awesome. Its shoot as well as my custom built rifles that I have spent $6000.00 to $11000.00 on .0625 MOA @ 100 can't beat that for $976.00 puts a smile on my face everytime I pull the trigger. And it's Cheap to shoot.

I have a Savage 12FV in .308 shooting zeros with no modifications and a Savage 110FP shooting 0.189" at 100M with no modifications. If you find a load it will shoot out the lights.

Guns are made to shoot, if you want a masterpiece go to the Louvre.
 
Also look into what type of ammo you would like to use. The Remington 700's mostly have a 1 in 12, where the savage uses a 1 in 10. The 1 in 10 typically stabilizes the heavier rounds. The Remington 5R has a 1 in 11.25 I believe, and will do fine with the heavier stuff.
