Most accurate Enfield

I can vouch for the Long Branch receivers being very hard. Basically had to spot anneal to D&T for the faux 4T I built a while back. No chance of touching that steel with regular hss bits.

My old somewhat ratty looking Indian issue P14 Mk1 Enfield shoots far better than any new or rebuilt No1's or No.4's I've ever owned and shot, including the No.4T I had many many years ago.

There is a big difference between an Enfield and a Lee Enfield.

Indeed. The P14 was designed and intended to replace the LE, except that the pressing demands of WW1 precluded this.

The P14 was an improvement on the LE (heavier barrel, better sights, front locking lugs and better stock bedding). The No4 reflected the need to improve on the sights and barrel.

I've found that the P14 /M1917 is a lot easier to set up for consistent stock bedding.
