The one that shoots best in your rifle.
There are a variety of premium loads available for target shooting. Hornady, Winchester, Lapua, etc.
If you are going to shoot any amount of this ammunition, it will help reduce the lower back pain caused by an overly thick wallet.
 
My m14s loves the winchester supreme stuff i think its 168 grain BTHP . but at 30 bucks a box i dont shoot it too often , roughly 1 1/2 moa at 100 yrd never get any flyers .

Winchester super x is roughly 2 1./2 inches , Remington corelockt is the same . Federal blue box is hit and miss.

Havnt tried 200 and 300 yards yet , hopefully this weekend maybe.

The best made ammo is "match" ammo. Winchester, Federal, Remington, lapua and Norma all have it. Your rifle might show a clear like/dislike for one brand or another.

I takes a better than average rifle and shooter to see the advantage of amtch ammo. regular hunting ammo is very good. But, your rifle might show a clear like/dislike for one brand or another.
 
Like the fellows are saying your best bet is to get a bunch of different brands and bullet weights,shoot some groups(preferably at 200m or more) and see what your rifle likes.Go have some fun and your rifle will do the deciding for you.
 
Unsorted lots of Lapua factory ammo was just used to win the world 300 metre world championship posting for, I think, the third time that a perfect score was made.

Federal GMM will shoot to the extreme, it is highly regarded and after firing a few hundred rounds I am convinced that no matter how good I am, the ammo will always do its part.

Lapua ammo is also very good. Have tried Winchester and Remington 168gr. match loads and they shoot very tight groups as well. Any match ammo over $40 a box will perform.
 
I've seen Federal 175gr Gold Medal Match shoot some mighty small groups from my dad's M700. The same rifle also puts factory Hornady 150gr SST's into a half-inch at 100y

"...The one that shoots best in your rifle..." Absolutely. If you're not reloading, you'll have to try a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best. The price of said ammo means nothing.
The best ammo is that which you load yourself. Reloading lets you tailor the load for your rifle. Eliminates the endless search for the best price for ammo too. You search for the best price for components instead.
