I was wondering what is everyone opinions on most accurate semi 308/6.5 that is non restricted. What would you take? Buy or build? Budget is limited. I already got a 2 ish moa rfb and m14 but what else is out there, I am thinking around 1 moa.

ATRS MH? I have a MV but the thing is , it seems ratter complicate to transfer accuracy and reliability of a ar 15 to a ar 10 as most compagny seem to have some reliability issue and. Plus the whole mag situation with the MH I don't know where they are with that and to me I am not ready to put all that cash.

Xcr-m the accuracy is not there.

The bcl 102: seems lile there are some pretty terrifying stories of reliability and craftsmanship or lack there off.

Bcl 102 receiver set: built in 6.5 creedmore is what I am leening to but lets say one puts a precision barrel, match trigger and decent handguard, what are we looking at price wise? Plus how easy are they to build?

Anything ealse?

542 elites are claimed to do 1.5 or better with match/handloads. Hearsay on my part, but for what it's worth..

I briefly had a MH. Loved the rifle, but didn't have it long enough to run groups. Have heard good things again - there are plenty of results in threads on here.

I've had a couple buddy's that have gotten great results out of xcr-m's too when using heavier bullets (168-180gr). Most m's have a 1/10 twist barrel and both of theirs responded way better to heavier pills.

Pretty sure cr5 has a thread with a bunch of info on accuracy for the various nr .308 rifles including bcl102. I'm not up to date on it, but it might be worth checking out.

I believe you're looking at the M1A platforms, as well as the Alberta Tactical rifle.

I haven't bought an Alberta Tactical yet, but I will be soon.

If you're looking for an m305, try to grab a 2007.

There's also the FNAR series, which is ugly, but they're supposed to be accurate.

EDIT: I wouldn't discount the m1 garand or the SVT40 as well, they're both accurate enough. I don't know anything about the XCR or the NEA102, I probably won't be buying either.

Xcr-m with a heavy barrel is capible of 1.5 inch groups or better with a bit of ammo experimenting.

With enouhh love care ...and money.... an m1a platform is sub moa cabable...

A famea 542 is super picky on ammo (for grouping) and even reloading can net mediocre results

But if you want an out of box moa .308 NR semi auto rifle your only real choice (and one of the cheaper irronicly) is an FNAR. I havnt heard from any of my friends that own one.. or even forum members that cant make it shoot moa with a factory load.

Thank you! , as I said I already got a m14 platform in a BF chassie.

I had forgoten the fnar, but at $120+ for mags its not really my cup of tea. I guess I will waite a bit see what people are capable of douing with there BCL102!

The Ljungman AG42B in 6.5x55 Swedish is incredibly accurate.

You're not going to get into a more accurate .308 semi for the cost of an FNAR, even including a few expensive mags. You can spend an extra grand trying to get a BCL 102 there?

My FNAR will shoot about a minute and a half with cheap ammo (PMC). I'm going to start reloading for it soon, and I'll see where I can get it.

To each their own, my FNAR Competition mounted with one of my old S&B model 5X25X56 SBll is a .75 MOA rifle with my handloads...
It is the most accurate NR SA, my friend own a Modern Hunter and he cant compete with me accuracy wise and he paid is rifle 2.5X mine...

Have you messed with you barrel tension on the Blackfeather ? depending on your loads you can squeeze some extra accuracy from doing that

FNAR is the best NR semi available in Canada

the 102 is the best looking ( Once you replace all the NEA crap ) .308 semi available in Canada

And we all know looking cool is the most important part.

Yeah I did, an was able to get 1.4 moa with rem accu tip 168 gr. Or someting like that. But I was looking at another option. But the fnar just doesn't do anything for me.

It all depend how accurate you want to be, a rifle can look the best but if it aint shooting FA, i ant worth much...

Haha that is part of it my friend!

You would argue the 102 is nicer looking then the MH?

The bcl 102. If you need to rebarrel (i’m Not convinced that is required) you can make it a .5 moa gun. The AR10 shoots and the bcl is another AR10.

I should add that the FNAR is also considered very accurate as noted already by other posters. Which I find very interesting since it is a short stroke system if I recall correctly and uses a hammer forged chrome lined 1:12 barrel at 20”. I’m guessing these are the same barrels as used by FN for their sniper rifles.

That being said I hate the look of the FNAR and the takedown. I’ve wrestled with the idea of getting one on more than a few occasions. Some hav shown great groups. It’s semi auto, has a good trigger etc. Yet I just can’t bring myself to buy one.

Out of the box the FNAR. But an AR10 with quality barrel, trigger and ammo can also shoot like the FNAR only without the 1:12 twist limitation. Easy takedown and non fuddy look.

It's in the Mystic Precision dealer threads. Jerry did some load development and testing on a couple BCL 102's and a Modern Hunter.
