Most accurate non restricted semi ?

that was my rifle, I shot .5 MOA with 77grain Federal factory loaded SMK. Last one I saw that sold was a few years ago on the EE for $7800, I was told the shooting edge had and sold 10, that's all there are in canada.

Can more be brought in?

The best bang for the buck in a varmint accurate semi is the Mini 14 target rifle. Under $1000, stainless, rugged and reports of excellent accuracy with hand loads. The trigger sucks but is pretty decent after having a gun smith fix it.

The only other budget semi that I can think of is the AR180b. But they are very hard to get and not an AR-15. Some like them some don't. Accuracy reports aren't good if you're thinking of using it for varmint/target. The rifle wasn't designed for this. Also you'll want to replace the trigger. Since it uses a regular AR trigger this isn't hard.

After that you're looking at 2-3K.

HK SL8-4 Over 2K
Swiss Arms PE-90 Just shy of 3K

I have heard tell that the Mini 14 accuracy ranged from 2-3 MOA to Minute of barn .I think the true failing of the Mini 14 is improper ammunition selection or a combination of many variables when reloading for the rifle .

Is the Mini 14 Target capable of sub MOA accuracy ?Is it a improvment over the Ranch Mini 14 I think so .For blasting Varmint's it is a viable piece of kit you only need a rifle that delivers 2 moa at the most with factory ammunition. If you are reloading them you can expect greater improvement but not with out some work and that is the fun part of shooting:)

There was a thread on this at the end of 2007. Sub 1 moa accuracy for the Mini 14 target. 1/9 twist hammer forged barrel with Harmonic dampener. Under 1K, stainless semi auto, non-restricted, North American made and very reliable. Hard to beat without jumping up the price to 2 or 3 times as much.

Yes the regular mini 14 is infamous for poor accuracy. I guess the A-Team wasn't that unrealistic after all :p.
